AX Real Estate plc Highlights Strong Performance and Future Growth at AGM
AX Real Estate plc recently held its Annual General Meeting, during which key updates and strategic insights were presented to shareholders. Group Chairman Mr Angelo Xuereb opened the meeting with a detailed overview of the Group’s recent milestones. He highlighted the exceptional success of AX ODYCY, which has exceeded expectations and received prestigious awards recognising its design and construction. Mr Xuereb also shared updates on the Verdala Wellness Hotel, underlining its architectural precision and the meticulous operational planning driving the project forward. Looking ahead, he outlined the next phase of the Qawra project, which includes the redevelopment and transformation of the Sunny Coast Aparthotel, Lido and Luzzu Complex. AX Real Estate’s Chief Executive Officer Ms Denise Xuereb followed with a strategic overview of the Group’s operations. Her presentation reaffirmed AX Real Estate’s strong performance and its long-term vision, with a clear focus on operational excellence and sustainable growth. Chief Financial Officer Mr Joseph Borg delivered an in-depth review of the Group’s financial results for the fiscal year ending October 2024. His analysis demonstrated the Group’s robust financial health and sound fiscal management, further reinforcing investor confidence. The AX Group Investor Relations Office recently hosted a stakeholder presentation at the AX ODYCY Hotel in Qawra, welcoming a number of long-standing stockbrokers and investors with the Group. The event offered a clear and accessible overview of AX Group’s operational and financial performance for the financial year ending 2024. It aimed to keep all stockbrokers informed and engaged, particularly those who have supported the Group over the years and value face-to-face updates on company progress. Mr Michael Warrington, CEO and Deputy Chairman of AX Group shared key performance highlights, outlined strategic achievements and discussed the Group’s future direction. Mr Warrington also openly addressed the challenges faced during the year, reinforcing the Group’s commitment to transparency and sustainable long-term growth. The presentation provided a meaningful opportunity for dialogue and provided an opportunity for guests to engage directly with the leadership team, ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of the Group’s strategic direction. Following the session, attendees were invited to enjoy light refreshments and canapés prepared by AX ODYCY’s in-house culinary team, encouraging networking and further discussions among attendees and Group representatives. AX ODYCY, the Group’s 4-star destination concept on the Qawra coast, continues to build on its success, adding prestigious awards to its growing collection. Following the four awards won at a country level at the European Property Awards 2024 last October, the hotel advanced to the regional level of the awards, competing amongst Europe’s finest. Following the 2025 ceremony held at The Savoy London on Thursday 20th February, AX ODYCY secured two additional accolades for Best Leisure Development and Best Masterplan. Representing AX Group at the ceremony were CEO & Deputy Chairman, Michael Warrington, and Managing Director of Finance & Administration, Albert Bonello. From the beginning of the redevelopment process, our goal for AX ODYCY has been to deliver a fresh approach to hospitality in Malta, catering to a diverse demographic of modern travellers and holidaymakers. Credits to our AX Development team spearheaded by our Director Denise Xuereb, Director of Hospitality Claire Xuereb for making ODYCY’s hospitality what it is today and architectural firm Box Concept Studio, designers Simon Abela and Sarah Brincat, for the development and design of the project.
