Angelo Xuereb

Angelo Xuereb is the Chairman of the AX Group of companies, one of Malta’s leading entrepreneurial groups.  He was born in Naxxar in  1952, and received his education at Stella Maris College.  At a very young age, he demonstrated an inclination towards business.  He attributes his success to four simple but strong words – Creativity, Efficiency, Challenge and Determination.

His business interests today include a wide range of activities, namely: tourism, construction, property development, restoration, project management, real estate, health care, quarrying and sea terminal operations.  In 2010 he amalgamated his 5 hotels under the umbrella of AX Hotels.  He is a  Council member of the Building Industry Consultative Council (B.I.C.C.) and Malta Developers’ Association (MDA).

Mr Xuereb is also very active in civic life.  He was the elected Mayor of Naxxar for two terms, and is Honorary President of several clubs and societies.  In 1982 he joined the Sovereign Order of St John of Jerusalem “Knights Hospitaller” and in 1999 was appointed Commander of Justice.  Mr Xuereb is married to Josephine  and they have three children and two grandchildren.

Josef Formosa Gauci

Josef Formosa Gauci was educated at De La Salle College Malta and Stonyhurst College in the UK. and graduated in economics from Nottingham University in 1989. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a fellow of the Malta Institute of Accountants.

He worked with Price Waterhouse in London and in Malta and was subsequently General Manager of the Galaxy Hotel and of Trident Developments Ltd. Between 2008 and 2014 he was CEO of the Malta Tourism Authority. He has also served as President of MHRA and was a member of MCESD and is presently the Chairman of the Malta Airport Foundation. He is also a member of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.

Michael Warrington

Michael Warrington is a Certified Public Accountant and a Fellow of the Malta Institute of Accountants, as well as an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in the United Kingdom. Michael holds a Masters Degree in Financial Services from the University of Malta.

Michael is a director of AX Investments plc and of Forthnet SA and is also the C.E.O of AX Group.

He has held various board positions with Public listed companies in Malta and overseas as well as a number of private entities and family owned companies.

Chev. Philip A. Ransley

Chev. Philip A. Ransley has worked up to 1975 with two audit firms, Attard Manfre and later with Diamantino Manfre & Co. He joined in partnership in setting up Edrichton Holidays Limited, a tourism (incoming) company, in 1976, where he was the Financial Director up to 1988.
He then joined Edrichton Holdings Ltd as a Financial Director up to its division in 1997. He is a director of a number of private companies.

Dr. Patrick J. Galea

Dr Patrick J. Galea is a practising Advocate and an academic. He has been in private professional practice since 1982, principally in civil and commercial law and litigation, law of property, the leisure industries and financial services law. Dr. Galea has been Chairman of a bank licensed by MFSA since 1996.
He is a senior lecturer in civil law and civil procedure at the University of Malta, and also a visiting lecturer at the University of Salzburg. He has authored various publications on civil law and civil procedure.

Dr. Ian Vella Galea

Dr. Vella Galea graduated as a Doctor of Laws in 2005 and was called to the bar in 2006. He obtained a Masters in European Law in subsequent years. Dr Vella Galea’s main area of practice is civil and commercial law with particular focus on property and development law, intellectual property law, competition law, taxation and litigation.
